Physical DescriptionColorless lead glass; blown, cut, and engraved, enclosed sulphide. Ovoid form, with flat top rim, chamfered on the inside with rough grinding; the sides cut in a cross-hatched pattern, with flutes at the top and ovals at the bottom; an oval panel on the front, enclosing a molded white sulphide bust of a man, facing left, inscribed on the shoulder "J. MOORE SC:"; engraved branches of laurel flank the portrait and cross below it; engraved inscription in an arc below the portrait (gothic letters) "Robert Burns Scotland's Bard / Born 25th January 1759"; applied disk foot with cut star on the bottom.
