Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, mold-blown, cut, engraved. (a) Tapered, straight-sided bowl blown into a mold with four flat faces alternating with concave panels; the faces cut; engraved border of repeated rayed triangles, the sides with engraved decoration: a coat of arms on one side, a landscape on the opposite side, with two men shaking hands at the center, a dog chasing a boar in the foreground, another man, a small house, a deer, and a building on a hill in the background; inscribed "gutte freunde uber all wie auch um da Riebezahl"; scrollwork below and at the sides of the arms and scene; short stem composed of a merese above a faceted inverted baluster, and two disks; flat foot with cut scalloped rim, engraved border of triangles, and circle of cut ovals. (b) Hollow, domed, octagonal bottle, with four flat faces and four concave panels; inset base; panel-cut sides, engraved band of linked scrolls on the shoulder; short, cylindrical neck with cut threading on the inside; polished, flat base. (c) Diamond-faceted, ovoid knob mounted on a disk, and a faceted flattened knop; cut screw shank; rough bottom.
