Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, pressed, cut, engraved. Ovoid bowl; polished rim; engraved rectangular frame with oval opening inscribed with a script "W" on a pedestal, with floral sprays above; tiny star border; drapery linking the pedestal with four ovals in foliate frames, with floral sprays above, inscribed "Beruhigung/finde in/der/Erinnerung", "Gluck!/sei Dir/die/ Gegenwart", "Heiter/lachte Dir./die/Zuckunft.", and "Spaet!-/ Winke Dir/der Engel der/Friedens"; honeycomb faceting at the base of the bowl; merese, above a spreading, panel-cut foot, with faceted dome, above a square foot with polished faces; polished flat bottom with polished concave pontil mark.Provenance
