Physical DescriptionLebensalter-Humpen. Transparent glass with yellow tint and few bubbles; surface dull through weathering; free blown, enameled and gilded. Slightly uneven large cylindrical body with plain rim, uneven applied foot ring and pushed-up base with ring-like pontil mark; a white dash (leaf) band on foot ring, below rim a gilded band between rings of white dots, around body two multicolored friezes between pairs of red and blue rings, each of the frieze showing an arcade with blue and red columns framing a human figure; the arches bear inscriptions referring to the age of persons who symbolize the ages of man (Lebensalter); inscriptions read: "10 JAR EIN KIND, 20 JAR EIN JUNGLING, 30 JAR EIN MAN, 40 JAR WOLGETAN, 50 JAR STILLE STAN, 60 JAR GEHTS ALTER ANN, 70 JAR EIN GREIS, 80 JAR NIMMER WEIS, 90 JAR DER KINDERSPOT, 100 JAR GENADT DIR GOT - 1631 - ".
