Physical DescriptionBeaker. Colorless lead glass; mold-blown, cut; enameled stamped gold foil. Cylindrical, straight-sided shape; plain rim; sides molded in a series of panels with large ovals in relief, with smaller, horizontal ovals in the centers; a band of swag ribbing below; an oval, convex, cut panel on the side, enclosing a medal formed as a Maltese cross, with four white arms interspersed with four fleur-de-lis; an oval panel at the center, with a robed, standing figure in gold armor, holding two green disks in his outstretched hands, on a red background, standing on a green hill, encircled by a blue band inscribed "LUD. M. INST. 1698."; suspended from a red-orange enameled ribbon; bottom with heavy raised radial ribbing, cut at the center.Provenance
