Physical DescriptionTranslucent deep blue, emerald-green and amethyst glass bands with opaque white bands and colorless bands casing gold foil, most surfaces dull and pitted with some thin iridescent weathering crust, some recent regrinding; mosaic or gold band glass technique, lathe-cut. No fragment inset preserves rim rounded by grinding with groove on exterior, wall bends in gently to form shallow vessel as far as preserved. (b) Bowl, similar to (a), possibly same vessel, slightly thicker vessel wall bends in gently from rounded rim down into shallow form as far as preserved. (c) Bowl or cup, thickened rounded rim wall bends down into gently tapering, almost-cylindrical form as far as preserved. (d) Bowl or plate, rounded rim of thick vessels bends in and down to form body as far as preserved. (e,f) Pyrex, fragments preserve beveled lip and cylindrical vessel wall, (e) has been repolished, (f) still retains lathe-cut groove just below lip on body. (g) Pyrex, fragment preserves bottom of vessel and part of wall, underside preserves two concentric lathe-cut grooves. (h,i) Pyrex, fragments preserve lid. (j) Bottle, fragment preserves base and part of vessel wall which spreads up and out from small bottom. (k,l,m) fragments are too small to positively identify the type of vessel.Provenance
