Physical DescriptionCanes of opaque white, opaque yellow, opaque red, translucent amethyst, translucent blue-green in a translucent grey-blue ground; mosaic glass or millefiori technique. Fragment of a mosaic inlay with a falcon or hawk primarily composed of a white body with a small red beak, amethyst eye on white ground and yellow legs on blue-green base; an amethyst, blue-green and yellow strip build up the head while the wing is highlighted in amethyst and a square of blue-green with amethyst spots tapers toward a square with alternating red strips and a third tapering square with alternating yellow and amethyst strips.Provenance
