Physical DescriptionTransparent dark blue lead glass; blown, cut, gilt. (a) Oval shape with straight sides; short, cylindrical neck; rounded shoulders with gilt rays; sides with panels decorated with gilt pagoda on one side, exotic bird on the other; framed by gilt linked half ovals; polished, flat base. (b) Cylindrical shape with domed top and molded rim; engraved bands of ovals; engraved stylized flower on top. Case: oval shape, straight sides, top and bottom covered with green shagreen; hinged, domed top; decorative gilt metal pins inserted to form a decorative geometric pattern on the top, and arranged in straight bands at the rim; gilt metal push on the front, to open the steel latch; lined with red velvet.
