Interpretive Notes
Rybák is well known for his cast glass sculptures as well as for his painted vessels and monumental windows. This depiction of the artist’s dog is meant to be humorous and cartoonlike, and it is inspired by children’s art. The choice of subject brings to mind typical canine attributes such as loyalty, devotion, and protectiveness.
