Physical DescriptionCordial Glass. Thick, colorless non-lead glass; free-blown, acid-engraved, gilded and enameled. Small cup bowl attached by merese to hollow stem composed of three ring or annular knops, dome foot with beveled edge on underside. Acid-engraved elaborate over- all diaper decoration: slender gilt-outlined white enamel scrolls with vein of gray dots, forming cartouche-like areas; on bowl, gilt stylized eagle motif on coil diaper; red enamel "Cross of Lorraine" on Greek key diaper below two Crosses of Lorraine on stippled mat background; gilt and enamel coat of arms on basket-weave diaper; gilt and green enamel thistle on curlicue diaper below two Crosses of Lorraine on stippled mat background; thistle-on-curlicue on stem below "eagle" on bowl and above Cross of Lorraine on foot; Cross of Lorraine on Greek key below coat of arms on bowl and above two gilt-outlined stars on stippled mat background on foot; other areas covered by stippled mat ovals with clear cross of Lorraine. Marked on bottom in black, "Daume" "Nancy", in two lines with a symbol between.Provenance
