Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, cut, enameled, gilded. Cylindrical form with cut, gilded, inset rim; a band of cut diamonds around the base; an oval panel containing the transparent enameled portrait of Emperor Franz I of Austria, with a yellow-stained and gilded border, and flanked by crossed fronds (one with red berries); on the reverse, a cut diminishing lens and the gilded script inscription "Franz lebe ! Oesterreichs hanz !/Der Vater der Deutschen soll leben !/Den Frieden Hat er der Welt/Uns Gluck und Worlstand/gegeben"; cut star on base.
