(a) Cylindrical shape with rounded shoulder; smooth lip with screw threads above flange on neck; mold seams on each side from lip to base; obverse embossed: "Ball" in script above "PERFECT/MASON"; base embossed "3/C". (b) Zinc cap with pressed opaque white liner, embossed: "GENUINE ZINC CAP/FOR BALL MASON JARS".
