(a) Barrel shape with ground lip, screw threads on neck, mold seam on each side; obverse embossed: "MASON'S/above a circled keystone/above PATENT/NOV 30TH/1858"; base embossed: "47". (b) Zinc cap with pressed opaque white glass liner; cap embossed: "GENUINE BOYDS CAP/FOR MASON JARS".
