Physical DescriptionColorless glass (appearing white-ish), opaque yellow and black; non-lead glass, glass enamels, wood, paint/stain; mold-blown, acid-etched, tooled, silk-screen enameled, fabricated, painted/stained. (a) Barrel-shaped vesselw ith overall matte-finish, sharply narrowed cylindrical neck, lipless fire-polished rim; wide shoulder curves into broad straight-sided cylindrical body decorated at center with broad enameled band extending approximately 3/4 around the circumference of the body, design consists of row of slightly angled, regularly spaced vertical yellow rectangles, the base of this row touchs the top of three narrow horizontal black bands above a broad black band with three rows of unenameled dots; body curves under sharply to form short, wide, hollow cylindrical stem decorated with wide enameled black band; applied wide, flattened, circular foot; base is slightly convex at center, no pontil; (b) wooden lid with overall black coloration and visible wood grain, flat disk shape that extends out at right angle past rim of vessel, center of lid drilled with circular hole, inset solid circular flange; rectangular paper label on neck, gray background with black and white block lettering: "(white) handle with care/(black) hwc/(white) EGIZIA/by Sottsass Associati".
