Physical DescriptionTranslucent lavender non-lead glass; mold-blown, enameled, gilt. (a) Baluster shape, with tall, slender neck inscribed "2" in black enamel inside; large rounded body; gilt band around the rim, bordered with white enamel dots; wide band of delicate blue enameled foliage on swirling vines; angular border below with gilt pseudo-Islamic inscription, bordered with rows of white enamel dots, and with pendant enameled and gilt stylized flowers; three large, colorfully enameled flowering sprays, with pink and white five-petaled flowers, yellow and green leaves, and brown and white stems; the foot with sloping sides and enameled blue-leafed vines, cylindrical rim, with a row of white dots on top, and the remains of gilding on the top and sides; flat base. (b) Domed top with enameled spiral vines with blue foliage, gilt bands with white enamel dots at the center and bottom; spherical finial, gilt; rounded rims; cylindrical, hollow shank, ground on the bottom; enameled black "2" on the inside.Provenance
