Physical DescriptionClear glass; free-blown, engraved and cut. Spreading domed foot with slight pontil mark, solid inverted baluster stem resting on a flattened knop, cup-shaped bowl with solid knop-like bottom; engraved and cut decoration: star of radiant notches and a band of ovals on a scale-like raised plane on the foot, faceted knop, rows of upright notches, and ovals on raised scales on the stem, another oval-and-scale band around bottom of bowl, lower bowl has another star of radiant notches, below rim a ring of notches; on the bowl the bust of Frederick II of Prussia on a pedestal with the monogram "FR", surrounded by putti and two figures in armor with flags, surmounted by an eagle and the royal crown, and flanked by two piles of disks, on the reverse an eagle with six lightning flashes; on the curved section of the cover a low frieze including a double house flanked by a bearded named winged figure and a naked boy playing the flute, a pavilion-like building, a figure kneeling in front of a cylindrical container, a naked boy holding a grape, and trees and birds, two rosettes of scales on top of the cover, faceted finial.
