Physical DescriptionClear glass; free-blown, cut and engraved and gilded. (a) High spreading folded foot with pontil mark, inverted baluster stem, deep thistle bowl; (b) set-in domed cover with pointed double- knop finial resting on a merese; cut decoration: band of upright ovals on foot, stem and lower bowl are faceted, band of ovals and notches around bulge of bowl, row of disks on upper covers finial is faceted; engraved decoration: on the bowl a coat-of-arms (the shield having 12 panels) surmounted by a royal crown and flanked by two branches, on the cover two volute- shaped vine-and-leaf-sprays; engraved decoration is gilded.Provenance
