Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, cut, engraved. (a) Bulbous, circular form; three engraved octagonal panels on the sides, each with a detailed scene: a large house with people strolling in the foreground; a village scene, with a long line of people in the foreground; and a scene of wooded hills with several buildings; the panels separated by elaborate foliate scrollwork; cut rounded panels at the base; flat bottom with polished concave pontil mark. (b) Flat, circular form with rounded sides and tapered brim; cut rounded panels on top, a band of cut circular facets on the side; capstan finial with applied disk on top; cut eight-pointed star on top. (c) Shallow, circular form, with everted sides; flat well; ring of polished, linked circular facets on top; polished concave pontil mark, engraved "Juli 11./ 1838." in the center.Provenance
