Physical DescriptionGoblet. Colorless lead glass; blown, cut, engraved, encased enameled stamped metal foil. Deep, ovoid bowl with panel-cut sides; the angles with cut notches; a pentagonal raised panel on the front enclosing an enameled medal with five white arms, blue and gold panel at the center bearing the inscription "NAPOLEON EMP. DES FRANCAIS" in a ring encircling a male head facing left; a wreath of blue-green foliage behind; suspended from a silver crown and a red ribbon; engraved "F" at the left of the panel, "D" at the right; rectangular panel on the reverse, inscribed in engraved script "Cuirassiers/de la/Garde Imperiale/Bataille/de Gravelotte/16 Aout/1870/Charge de Rezonville"; cut stem with panel-cut tapering hexagonal knops above and (PRISCILLA THIS WAS NEVER FINISHED?)Provenance
