Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, cut, engraved. Ovoid bowl, engraved elaborate frame of foliate scrolls, enclosing two men, dressed in armor, one crowned, shaking hands; inscribed above "Hier Komt ein treuer Freund, von arth Wie Jonathan/Wilt du sein David sein, so nim den deckel an.."; inscribed on the reverse: "So Sey der Freundschaffts Bund/mit diesen Trunck geschlossen/Es lebel Sie und Ich/nebst allen Bunds Genossen"; base of bowl solid enclosing six air beads, arranged as a ring of five around one; cut rounded panels in ascending and descending lengths on the base of the bowl; stem composed of a faceted ball knop containing a large air bubble, over a faceted and paneled inverted baluster containing an elongated air bubble; domed and folded foot with a ring of oblong facets on top; ground pontil mark.
