Physical DescriptionGoblet. Colorless non-lead glass; blown, cut, engraved. Tapered, straight-sided, cylindrical bowl; panel-cut; elaborately-shaped panel on the side, framed with two parallel lines, enclosing a complex engraved scene, partly polished, of a man with long hair playing a lyre, a bow on his legs, a quiver of arrows at his feet; six women seated at his left, three at his right, a mask on the ground in front of him, a globe in a three-footed frame at his right, a figure of Pegasus in the distance, above him; elaborate formal interlaced scrollwork and foliage on the reverse; a row of facets at the base of the bowl; stem with merese above a faceted flattened ball knop above a merese, a faceted and panel-cut ovoid knop, merese, and capstan at the bottom; large circular foot with engraved foliate border; oval facets on the top, at the rim, a ring of linked oval facets on the underside; small, rough pontil mark on the bottom.
