雄黄色套红玻璃三羊开泰纹鼻烟壶
Physical DescriptionSnuff Bottle with Stopper (雄黃色玻璃鼻煙壺). Opaque orange, dark red, white, and coral-red lead glass in imitation of realgar, ivory, cork; blown, cased, cameo-carved. (a) Flattened, ovoid form, with short cylindrical neck, the rim polished flat, the inside ground for a stopper and spoon; rounded shoulders and sides; oval, foot rim, recessed within; dark red overlay on opaque orange, cameo carved decoration of a bearded man, wearing robes, and holding a staff, with his hand outstretched to a ram standing at his side, a fruiting peach tree at the left; on the reverse, three rams reclining on the ground, looking at the sun, above, with scrolled stylized clouds at either side; a scrolled fungus lingzhi growth at the left. (b) Domed top of white glass with coral-red overlay, mounted on a thin circular cork shank, with tiny spatulate ivory spoon on a thin handle, attached at the center of the cork.
