Physical DescriptionBowl. Translucent purple, with opaque white trails. Blown; trailed, dragged, and marvered. Bowl: roughly hemispherical. Rim everted, with rounded lip; wall curves out and down to below mid-point, then in; base plain, very slightly concave; pontil mark is irregular scare (W. 1.2 cm). Decoration: on outside of rim, continuous white trail; on base and wall, trail dropped onto base near center, wound spirally 19 times to within 1.5 cm of lip, and marvered; all but uppermost two to three revolutions have been dragged diagonally to produce appearance of twisted ribbons or rows of adjoining lozenges.Provenance
