Physical DescriptionColorless, translucent red, blue, green, opaque white and "black", slight iridization, non-lead glasses; blown, pick-up decoration of powders and rods, assembled while hot with cast base. Tall elongated tilted conical form with lipless fire-polished rim, undulating and slightly twisted walls tapering to narrow base; upper body has blue background becoming lighter towards center and fading to colorless at lower part of body, interior of top section is red swirled with blue, overall exterior decoration of colored powders and random patterning of rod sections, one side has vertical band of parallel narrow white strips next to a vertical stripe comprised of short wide horizontal black pieces; tip of cone pushed at an angle in to one corner of molten square thick base creating a raised ring around tip, overall mottling on sides of base; inscribed in script on one side of base: "Kathleen Mulcahy 85".
