This commemorative cane celebrates the 900th anniversary of the inauguration of the Basilica of San Marco in 1094.
Physical DescriptionTransparent red, blue, white, yellow, black; pulled, assembled, fused, cut, ground, and polished. Winged Lion of San Marco facing right, his head turned to the left, his left paw is resting on an opened book with illegible inscription; he is surrounded by yellow stars on a blue background; in exergue between two blue lines on white ground the signature cane MdR; below, 1094-1994. Transparent red band framing image; monogram cane MdR.
