Physical DescriptionInkwell in the form of a cube and lid. Colorless lead glass; blown, cut, engraved; Inkwell (a) is in the form of a cube with a cylindrical hollow in the center and a cut and polished upstanding circular rim in the top surface. One face is engraved in script "W. W. Adams / Mayor / Corning, N.Y."; one is engraved "March 12th, 1894" with flowers above and below; the next is engraved with "SEAL OF THE CITY OF CORNING" around a circular cartache which shows the railway station, the clock tower and the glassworks with three chimneys with "1890" below. The fourth side has two deer in a woodland setting. The base is cut with buttons in a cross-hatched pattern. The cylindrical lid (b) has a hobstar on top and a matching cut button pattern around the sides.
