The attribution to the Brooklyn Flint Glass Company is based on the resemblance of this decanter to a claret decanter exhibited by the Brooklyn firm at the London Crystal Palace Exhibition of 1851. The decanter shown in the 1851 catalog has a handle and a cut ring between shoulder and neck, but is otherwise identical. No similar pattern has turned up anywhere else.
