Physical DescriptionColorless, non-lead Glass; blown, engraved. Large ovoid bowl; copper-wheel engraved with a calligraphic inscription, "Unusquisq(ue) Fortuna sua faber" (Everyone is the smith of his own fortune); tall stem composed of multiple knops, with two sets of three sharp mereses, above a hollow flattened ball knop, another triple-merese knop, a squat hollow baluster knop, and another triple-disk merese at the bottom; spreading, circular foot with folded rim; engraved wreath of foliage encircling the foot; rough pontil mark.Provenance
