Physical DescriptionPurple translucent glass with white opaque trails; blown, applied. Gather slightly inflated, marvered, and trailed; then inflated further and pinched or blown in mold; and inflated to desired size and shape. Globular bowl. Rim almost vertical, with plain, cracked-off lip; shoulder slopes; wall curves down and in. Narrow horizontal trail or trails wound many times around shoulder and wall; surviving part of wall has eight vertical ribs; between ribs, wall is recessed vis-a-vis shoulder, so that shoulder and ribs somewhat resemble an arcade. Rim and wall are thin (about 0.2 cm); shoulder is slightly thicker. Trails are visible on shoulder and ribs, but not on wall between ribs.Provenance
