Physical DescriptionPurple translucent glass with white opaque trails; blown, applied. Gather inflated slightly, marvered, and trailed; then inflated further and pinched or blown in mold; and inflated to desired size and shape. Globular bowl. Rim almost vertical, with plain, cracked-off lip; shoulder slopes; wall curves down and in. Narrow horizontal trail or trails wound many times around shoulder and wall; surviving part of wall has three vertical ribs at rather uneven intervals; between ribs, wall is slightly recessed vis-a-vis shoulder, so that shoulder and ribs somewhat resemble an arcade. Rim and wall are very thin (about 0.1 cm); shoulder is slightly thicker. Trails are visible on shoulder and ribs, but not on wall between ribs.Provenance
