Physical DescriptionTranslucent milk glass with faint grey-like tint; free-blown, enameled, gilded and cut. a) Roughly ovoid body with lower section being straight-sided and tapering towards concave base with ground pontil mark, tapering and cylindrical neck; b) stopper with pointed and faceted (paneled) finial; multicolored enameled decoration: (A) a young couple in a landscape with architectural motifs and a vertically oriented scroll motif on the right, one large flower spray on the reverse, smaller flower sprays and a few gilded leaf-sprays interspersed between the main motifs, gilded rim and partly gilded stopper; (B) the obverse shows the 3/4 view of a hunter turned to the right and holding a gun, semi-circle frame of scrolls and branches; the other decoration is almost identical to (A).Provenance
