Physical DescriptionAlmost colorless, with yellowish tint and small bubbles. Blown and relief-cut. Fragment of bottle with cylindrical body. Wall (Th. 0.25 cm with decoration, 0.15 cm without decoration) descends vertically or almost vertically. Decorated in relief with parts of two friezes separated by horizontal rib. Upper frieze contains part of animal seen in profile facing left. Its front leg has large shoulder decorated with slanting cuts and hatching arranged in herringbone pattern; back legs have triangular thighs with partly notched outlines and roughly triangular feet, which are hatched; one haunch is shown, containing curl in relief. Lower frieze has small part of animal (?), perhaps facing right but with head turned to look backward; triangular element with median cut may represent snout or beak; feather-shaped vertical element to left, which is hatched in herringbone pattern, curves to left at top, and terminates in hatched oval, may represent wing.Provenance
