Physical DescriptionClear heavy glass; heavily crizzled; free-blown, cut and engraved. (a) Bowl with straight-sided walls tapering downwards at bottom decreasing in diameter towards beveled base with concave center; (b) set-in slightly domed cover with stemmed ball knop finial; bowl and cover have around their centers a band of raised cut diamonds accompanied on top and bottom by panels, multipointed cuts at base, the ball knop is faceted; a row of small panels around shoulder of cover; on one side of the bowl a slightly concave area bearing a raised medallion with cipher of Tsar Alexander I surmounted by the Imperial crown and enclosed in a band of diamonds.
