Physical DescriptionCovered Comport in "Old English" Pattern. Deep amethyst lead glass; blown, applied, cut. (a) Comport bowl with short stem with flattened knop and solid circular foot with cut starburst on base. Exterior wall of bowl decorated with a wide diamond-cut band. Rim of bowl is wider than bowl, creating a ledge upon which the cover rests; rim decorated with a band of horizontal cut facets. (b) Bell-shaped cover with applied trapezoidal knop; vertically-cut saw-tooth facets surround edge of knop. Exterior wall of cover decorated with fifteen cut panels bisected by three horizontally-cut channels.
