Physical DescriptionWineglass Rinser in "Pierce" Pattern. Colorless glass; blown, cut, engraved. Wine rinser with two spouts at opposite ends of rim and a solid straight-walled circular foot with a sixteen-pointed star cut in base. Engraved vegetal motif consisting of grapevines, leaves, and grape bunches wrap around exterior wall, framing a central motif consisting of an eagle with outstretched wings perched atop a shield decorated with stars and stripes; shield is set before a flowing ribbon banner, which reads: “E PLURIBUS UNUM”. Band of twelve cut facets encircle base of bowl.Provenance
