Physical DescriptionColorless, transparent ruby non-lead glasses; blown, enclosed threads, cut, engraved. (a) Tall conical bowl with rounded base; engraved with a continuous view of a large city, inscribed in a ribband above "Die Hoch Furstliche Residentz Stadt Oelse", supported by two putti; on the reverse, a shield containing an eagle and, below, a ribband inscribed "S. IOHANNES"; stem with merese and capstan above a faceted inverted baluster enclosing multiple spiral ruby threads, with a capstan at the base; circular foot with engraved continuous foliate wreath; rough pontil mark. (b) Domed form, with tapered, cut brim; engraved elaborate coat of arms on one side, flanked by palm fronds; on the opposite side, a scrolled plaque engraved "VIVAT/SENATUS POPULUSQUE/OELSNENSIS"; conical, faceted finial enclosing multiple spiral ruby threads, on two mereses; rough pontil mark inside.
