Physical DescriptionBrooch, "Still Life Bakker/Lobmeyr". Colorless glassware (by Aldo Bakker and Lobmeyr), sterling silver mounts; cut, assembled. Two pieces of glass, cut from existing drinking vessels, are mounted together to form a brooch. A sterling silver mount traces the outlines of the two glass components. Each glass is secured to the silver mount with four tabs: one on each side near the top of the vessels, and one on each side near the bottom of the vessels. The colorless glass positioned furthest back on the brooch was reworked from an existing grappa glass, designed by Aldo Bakker in 1998. The amethyst glass in the foreground was reworked from an existing water tumbler (TS267GL) from Lobmeyr’s "Alpha" drinking set no. 267.
