Panel-cut, straight-sided bowl; each panel with an engraved symbol and inscription: cross, book and lamp, and "Glaube"; anchor and "Hoffnung"; pedestal with flaming heart, and "Liebe"; serpent entwined with staff, and goblet, and "Gesundheit"; cornucopia of fruit, and "Gluck"; musical instruments and "u. Freude"; winged sand glass and scythe, and "bringe Dir"; and floral spray and "die Zeit"; spreading panel-cut heavy stem and foot with cut, notched rim; cut angular grooves on the bottom.Provenance
