Physical DescriptionPlaque with Lotuses and Palmettes. Canes of opaque white, opaque yellow, opaque brick-red, opaque medium yellow-green and translucent deep blue matrix, bubbly, pitted, surface reground recently; mosaic glass or millefiori technique. Large square, either a slice or a pre-formed tile, preserves the decoration of lotus and palmette arranged around a central rosette or cloverleaf; cloverleaf is made up of four leaves with white stems and a split red end with yellow and green shaft, around this cloverleaf is a series of four alternating lotus and palmette elements, the long palmettes are composed of canes of yellow, red and blue with spiral volutes in white connecting each element with a lotus bud in red, white and yellow, all are in a deep blue ground.Provenance
