Physical DescriptionCanes of translucent amethyst, opaque brick-red, opaque white and opaque medium blue glass, heavily pitted and highly iridescent film, surface repolished recently; mosaic glass or millefiori technique. Fragment preserves a roughly triangular section of a large square or rectangular plaque preserving almost two complete leaves and a portion of a third from a rosette or clover design of four leaves; the design consists of a split leaf element with red tips and white base outlined in amethyst and cased in a medium blue ground, this configuration was sliced and placed into a four pattern design and cased with a second layer of blue glass, the pitting on the repolished surface reveals lines which define the individual square canes.
