Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, cut, gilt, engraved. Oval bowl with tapered straight sides, waisted below; cut and gilt rim with raised small shells at either side, and a shell with engraved foliage at the back; engraved village scene covering the sides and front, with numerous wood buildings, and a central columned pavilion with raised, domed roof; rococo scrolls forming a panel at the back, enclosing the inscription "So Herrschafft/als gasten/bestanding zum/besten"; lower, waisted portion of bowl with cut rounded panels above pointed ovals; disk above a faceted ball knop stem; circular foot with engraved matte triangles; ring of cut ovals in two sizes on the underside of the foot; inscribed "183" in white paint on the underside of the foot.
