Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, mold-blown, cut, engraved. Octagonal conical bowl; cut, paneled sides with engraved decoration; scroll and shell border with putties' heads on either side, with pendant swags and flowers; one side with engraved crowned coats of arms in three ovals: double-headed eagle at the top, lion rampant at left, eagle at the right; battle flags and arms behind; with richly engraved background of foliate scrolls and flowers; on the reverse, a scrolled frame with foliate scrolls, two birds holding drapery swags, and with fruit and flowers, inscribed "AVGVSTISSI./.MA/PATRONAN./Z-A" within; cut ledge encircling the very bottom of the bowl; two thin disks above a diamond-and-panel-faceted inverted baluster, with angular disk near the bottom; cut octagonal foot with engraved matte scallops at the rim; ring of cut ovals in two sizes on underside of foot.Provenance
