Physical DescriptionOpaque medium blue ground inlaid with canes of light grey and dark grey with amethyst striations, also grey with yellow swirls, surface spalled with devitrification, some pitting; cast with mosaic glass inlay. Fragment of a plate of plaque of considerable thickness which preserves the tail of a fish composed of thin bands of dark grey with amethyst streaks alternating with wider band of light grey, below is a circular nodule of glass inlay consisting of a yellow and grey swirl. One side of the fragment appears to have been ground and may represent the perimeter of a substantial plaque.Provenance
