Physical DescriptionColorless (tan) non-lead glass; blown, enameled, gilt. Cylindrical, straight-sided form, with rounded base and flat bottom; white and black lines at the top and bottom; depiction in white and black enamel of a man riding a horse, holding a baton, inscribed above "CHUR/BAYERN/1687", with stylized plants at either side; on the reverse a checkered coat of arms (Bavaria) under an Elector's cap; between, gilt (rubbed) diamonds with blue and white enamel dots, and yellow, white and black rings, spirals and dashes; rough pontil mark; three hollow flattened ball feet applied to the rim.Provenance
