Physical DescriptionColorless (tan) non-lead glass; blown, enameled. Straight- sided, cylindrical form, with rounded base and flat bottom; the sides with white and black enamel decoration of two mounted horsemen, one holding a baton, and identified "C:/brandenburg", the other holding a crown, and identified "C:/Pfalz heyelberg"; lily-of-the-valley plants at either side and between the riders; on the reverse, a multi-part castle on large rocks, birds flying overhead; formal foliate border above; rough pontil mark on the bottom, covered by a rectangular printed paper label, additionally inscribed in ink: "Glasgow/Art Galleries & Museums./ 130 [ink]/Reg. No. 9fd-04 [ink]"; three hollow flattened ball feet applied to the base rim.Provenance
