Physical DescriptionClear heavy glass with slight crizzling on bowl and cover; free- blown, cut and engraved. (a) Flat spreading foot with under- folded rim and rough pontil mark, solid stemmed inverted stem with collar around center and merese on top, bell bowl; (b) set-in cover with squat pear-shaped finial; decoration: on foot a frieze of cartouches and volutes decorated with leaf and flower sprays and tendrils; collar around stem cut in facets; baluster surrounded by a wreath of large pointed leaves; around bottom of bowl another pointed leaf wreath, on bowl on one side the Royal coat-of-arms of Sweden with a large lion in the back, on the other the portrait of King Frederik I of Sweden (?) in a large elaborate cartouche surrounded by arms and flags, a lion on top of the cartouche flanked by two children with daggers; on the cover a frieze similar to the one on the foot, the finial is engraved to form a large bud with scale-like petals.
