Physical DescriptionOlive-green non-lead glass; blown-molded. Tall, tapering form, with applied rounded rim; two oval paper labels on the sides, one with a griffin against an orange background, inscribed "TRADE MARK" and "GRIFFIN BRAND", and inscribed in a ring around the orange field "T. P. GRIFFIN & Co. EXPORT BOTTLERS, LONDON / ONLY GENUINE WHEN THE BOTTLE IS SEALED WITH PATENT / CAPSULE BEARING OUR SIGNATURE & TRADE MARK."; the paper label on the reverse inscribed "BASS & CO" and "AGENTS T. P. GRIFFIN & CO. / EPORT BOTTLERS, / 2 & 3, PHILPOT LANE, / LONDON."; inscribed around the edge "THIS LABEL IS ISSUED ONLY BY BASS, RATCLIFF & GRETTON LIMITED / -BREWERS, BURTON-ON-TRENT-"; wire tied around the neck; recessed base with bull's-eye center.
