Physical DescriptionOpaque very dark purple, appearing black in reflected light (matrix); opaque yellow, light green, deep blue, red, and white (inlays). Probably cast; then inlaid, and ground and polished. Fragment of shallow bowl. Rim plain, with lip rounded by grinding; upper wall curves down and in. Inner surface inlaid with one complete lotus pod and parts of two or three other pods, parts of six stems, and two circular motifs. Complete pod has three groups of four parallel stripes: white, green, red, and blue; stems consist of two parallel curving lines, one green and one white; circular motifs (D. about 0.6 cm) have red dot at center, surrounded by three concentric rings: plain yellow, white alternating with blue, and plain blue.Provenance
