Physical DescriptionTransparent blue glass, translucent pink luster, metallic silver and gold, brown wood; glass, silver leaf, wood and peg board mount, electrical fixture, wire hanger; layers of rolled flat glass fused in multiple firings with internal engraved silver-leaf glass enamel drawing, applied colored lustres, glass is affixed to fabricated wood and peg board light box. Rectangular panel with irregular edge, broken and mottled silver leaf background almost entirely covering glass, scattered small amounts of blue show through silver, leaf is engraved with vertical linear composition of hooded and robed figure, face has large eyes, right arm of figure is bent with oversized hand clutching drapery at the neck, left arm cradles a golden bird, robe drapes to ground; overall scattered patches of gold leaf and pink luster detailing; panel is mounted on larger rectangular wooden light box, cream colored plastic electrical cord; engraved in the silver leaf in vertical block letters, lower right quadrant: "EDRIS/EDRIS/ECKHARDT"; black plastic impressed label on top side of frame: "AMHERST 1850 275.00"; written in script on peg board backing: "Edris Ecklhardt/Amherst 1850/Value 275.00/Silver Glass Lamination/Hand rolled "streaks" (not legible)/ New Lusters for color"; piece of masking tape with red ink: "9 (enclosed in a circle) 1963".Provenance
