Physical DescriptionTransparent blue/green, opaque yellow/green, yellow, orange non-lead glasses, metallic bronze and gold colored powders; crushed glass melted in a cire perdue mold. Solid glass figurine of female (Queen of Hearts) with grimacing face and open mouth, wearing long dress with incised decoration of hearts, dots, zig-zag, and half of a sunburst, her head is draped with a triangular and hear-shaped covering, she holds a heart-shaped scepter in two hands, at one side, in front of and looking up at queen is a smaller figure (Alice) of a girl with long hair, wearing a short dress with apron and carrying a flamingo, from behind the girl's legs peers a small crouching figure with a playing card body; figures stand on roughly circular base; except for the queen's head piece (which shows striations of yellow and orange), and also the underside of the base, the figures are largely covered with a metallic finish--bronze on the queen, flamingo, and playing card figure, and slightly golden (with blue glass showing through) on Alice; base is irregular with bubbles and assorted marks, base shows transparent blue/green glass except at front edge which is formed of small "balls" of opaque yellow/green glass; impressed in mold in block letters on side of base: "EDRIS 197(illegible)".
